Vaughan Pumps

Vaughan Pumps has more than 50 years’ experience of producing pumps that stand up to the most severe environments in terms of reliability and efficiency. Jim Vaughan who invented the first chopper pump in 1960 started the company.

Vaughan had seen how manure pumps, used by local dairy farmers, were continually breaking down because they could not handle the materials such as animal bedding and twine. His chopper idea solved this problem and met a genuine need for many applications beyond the dairy industry.

Today Vaughan chopper pumps and Triton centrifugal pumps are available in several configurations and sizes to suit the needs of agricultural, municipal and industrial processing applications. The chopper pump is a centrifugal pump that has the unique ability of chopping all incoming solids prior to pumping, which not only prevents the pump from clogging but also has additional benefits for downstream components, processes and the environment. Over the years, Vaughan Pumps has produced vertical wet well, submersible and dry well pumps for agricultural applications and for industrial applications in the automotive, steel, chemical, petrochemical, food processing, mining, and paper & wood products industries.
